Chart congratulates employees at its new cold box manufacturing facility in new Iberia, Louisiana, for reaching 1000 consecutive days without a single Lost Time Accident.
Brad Babineaux, General Manager at New Iberia, emphasised that it had been achieved through everyone’s hard work, professionalism, training and the execution of management systems. He was also quick to stress that the focus will remain with the group constantly looking to additional perspectives on training, hazard identification, corrective action controls and continuous improvement.
In the company’s latest report, it states that new Iberia’s success is based on inclusion, defining moral responsibilities for all employees and a total safety culture, which has been wholeheartedly embraced. The framework includes a no-fault reporting system that encourages employees to actively report near-miss incidents and in doing so highlights potential risks, both at work and at home, and how employees might reduce risk in the future. Meetings and presentations start with a ‘safety moment’ and employees are incentivised to be safety-conscious through spot bonuses and special recognition for those individuals and teams who demonstrate an outstanding attention to safety procedures in their daily work.
