A Catholic charity-funded oxygen machine is set to be despatched to a hospital in northern Iraq treating Covid-19 patients.
Aid to the Church in Need (ACN) approved €55,000 for the oxygen generator system, which will be installed in Maryamana Catholic Hospital in Erbil.
Cases of Covid-19 are continuing to surge in Iraq, with the country passing 500,000 confirming cases last week.
The oxygen generator will be sent to Erbil from Turkey and is expected to take a week to install.
