The Haisla Nation and Pembina Pipeline Corporation, partners in the development of the proposed Cedar LNG Project, have signed a heads of agreement with Samsung Heavy Industries (SHI) and Black & Veatch.
News of the deal provides Cedar LNG secure access to shipyard capacity to meet Cedar LNG’s target commercial operations date on an exclusive basis with SHI and Black & Veatch.
It is hoped that a final investment decision will be made by the end of 2023. However, this may be pushed back due to the complexity and sequencing of aligning multiple work streams.
Doug Arnell, CEO of Cedar LNG, described the news as a major step forward for the project.
