Ambition, leadership and scale are essential if the UK is going to capitalise on the opportunities presented by carbon capture, usage and storage (CCUS).
That’s what delegates were told at the Carbon Capture and Storage Association (CCSA) conference, CCUS 2019: Capturing the clean growth opportunities.
Nearly 200 attendees from the CCUS sector, including industry providers, customers, policy makers, investors and researchers, were present at the event which explored landscape for CCUS, recent developments and opportunities for leadership, investment, innovation and growth.
At the conference Chris Stark, The Climate Change Committee’s Chief Executive, reinforced the committee’s belief of CCUS being vital for the journey to decarbonisation, saying, “Let’s bury the idea that CCUS is a fantasy… CCUS is absolutely essential to meet the net zero target.”
