The Carbon Capture and Storage Association (CCSA) has appointed experienced industry professional and UK Country Chair for RWE Tom Glover as new Chair to its Board of Directors, alongside seven new Directors.
Announced during the CCSA’s Annual General Meeting on 24th November, the appointments were welcomed by Ed Miliband MP, Shadow Secretary of State for Energy Security and Net Zero.
As the event’s guest speaker, Miliband emphasised the importance of carbon capture, utilisation and storage (CCUS) as a fundamental part of the UK’s journey to Net Zero.
During the speech, he also reiterated Labour’s commitment to the development of the CCUS industry. According to its Green Transformation Fund, the party aims to invest £6bn ($7.5bn) into the UK’s green economy – a move that Labour claims could put the UK in a leading position when it comes to development of green technologies such as hydrogen and carbon capture and storage (CCS).
