Carbon Upcycling Technologies has raised $26m to support what are believed to be the first fully commercial-scale carbon capture and utilisation deployments at cement plants in North America and Europe.
The decarbonisation solutions company today (31st July) closed the $26m Series A funding round, co-led by Climate Investment and the BDC Capital Climate Tech Fund.
Apoorv Sinha, founder and CEO of Carbon Upcycling, described the closing as a major milestone on the road to becoming an impactful carbon technology company.
He added, “Over the next year, our mission is to demonstrate our technology’s versatility, scalability, and operational elegance. Proving significant, cost-effective decarbonization potential in the cement industry is possible without a green premium.”
