Kunshan Carbon Dioxide Co. Ltd, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Suzhou Jinhong Gas Co. Ltd, has started up a carbon dioxide (CO2) production plant in Kunshan, a city in southeast Jiangsu province and adjacent to Shanghai.
The area of the site is 10,000m2, while the plant – a CO2 recovery plant in cooperation with the China Salt Group – has a design capacity of 200,000 tonnes of food grade CO2 and 5,000 tonnes of dry ice per year.
Meanwhile, in another part of the country, Xinjiang Cryogenic Gases Co. Ltd has also started up the first phase of a 200,000 tons per year CO2 plant after nine months of construction.
When the whole project is completed, it will increase the total CO2 production of the holding group Henan Xinlianxin Shenleng Energy Co. Ltd to 600,000 tonnes per year. The total project investment is reported to be RMB 45m (approx. $6.92m) and will be constructed in two phases.
