Oxygen technologies and healthcare solutions manufacturer CAIRE® has expanded its at-home oxygen therapy portfolio with the launch of a new stationary oxygen concentrator.
The IntenOxy5™ can offer oxygen delivery with up to 95.5% concentration and flow settings from 0.5 to five litres per minute, meeting a range of prescription needs.
CAIRE wanted the device to be lighter than those similar, at 34.2 pounds. It also has a low power consumption of <350W at the five litters per minute setting.
Ken Hosako, President and CEO of CAIRE, described the concentrator as an excellent addition to the company’s oxygen therapy portfolio.
“The unit is a key component to how our DME and HME customers serve their respiratory patients, providing them with an at-home device that delivers the oxygen they need as they navigate activities of daily living.”
According to an article published in the National Library of Medicine database, the Centres for Medicare & Medicaid Services estimate that more than one million medicare recipients receive long-term oxygen therapy (LTOT) at home.
CAIRE launched the innovation at its global service headquarters north of Atlanta. The unit will soon be available in Canada, as well as the US.
