Industrial gas technology specialist Burckhardt Compression (Burckhardt) has been awarded a supply contract by TECNIMONT S.P.A. and Tecnimont Private Ltd to provide solutions to India Oil Corporation’s polypropylene plant in Bihar, India.
The agreement will see Burckhardt supplying the carrier gas compressor and nitrogen gas compressor packages for the plant’s refining complex.
Regarding the deal as a ‘direct result’ of its strategy to maintain its position as a market leader in supplying reciprocating compressors for carrier gas and nitrogen gas, Burckhardt also aim to meet India’s burgeoning demand for added-value products, as explored through joint initiatives between Burckhardt Compression India Pvt Ltd and Burckhardt Compression AG.
Burckhardt will provide engineering, manufacturing, supervision and commissioning activities up until the plant begins operation, marking a significant aspect of Indian Oil’s Barauni Refinery capacity expansion project.
