Air Products CEO Seifi Ghasemi today threw down the gauntlet to investors and reaffirmed hydrogen’s potential after a challenging year impacting corporate and market performance.
Speaking at a webinar during the Goldman Sachs Industrials and Materials Conference, the CEO was in upbeat and bullish mode over its twin-pillar strategy, saying it has gained market share in industrial gases and continuing to focus on hydrogen – which, as he describes it, is going to be the only choice for the world to decarbonise heavy industry.
“What we are seeing as the years go by is significant additional encouragement that we are on the right path,” he said. “I’m excited, if not more excited, about our hydrogen strategy than before.”
Hydrogen has had a tough year with regulatory, cost and offtake challenges. But Ghasemi underlined Air Products is in for the long haul.
