bp has signed a 10-year liquified natural gas (LNG) sale and purchase agreement with Austria’s OMV Group.
Unveiled today (28th July), the contract will see bp provide OMV with one million tonnes of LNG per year for 10 years from 2026.
LNG supplied from bp will be received and re-gasified through the Gate LNG terminal in Rotterdam, the Netherlands, or other European terminals.
Jonty Shepard, Vice-President of Global LNG Trading and Origination at bp, notes LNG as an essential part of the energy transition and essential for bp’s own pivot to become an integrated energy company.
