Nic Bothma, Technical Manager of Industrial Products at BOC South Pacific, commented, “The range of advanced features on the Smootharc Advance MIG 200C, MIG 275C, MIG275R and 350R models make it a genuine step up for general fabricators.”
The new range benefits from several upgrades on the previous set. This includes, a four roll drive, rather than two roll system; a lighter inverter based machine, as opposed to transformer; improved tunnel design to maximise cooling and cleanliness; and larger wheels for improved portability.
It also features original characteristics incorporating; Binzel torches and full sets of drive rolls for steel, stainless steel and aluminium.
Bothma reported, “This is a whole design change. As an example, the Smootharc Advance MIG range now has infinite electronic induction coupled with an infinite voltage adjustment that makes it incredibly flexible, allowing it to adjust any welding conditions and minimise spatter. In past models, only set-up voltage adjustment was available”
He continued, “These are compact, practical and robust workhorses that are tough enough to handle structural steel, stainless steel and aluminium product manufacturing and can even be used for boat building and general engineering.$quot;
