Watford FC has become the first Premier League football club to install and use a permanent cryotherapy chamber thanks to a new business venture between BOC and CryoAction.
The alliance will see the UK’s leading industrial and medical gases business team up with the leading provider of permanent whole body cryotherapy solutions to provide such treatments for a range of domestic and international squads.
Under the new union, the companies have supplied permanent cryotherapy chambers and liquid nitrogen (N2) gas as part of CryoAction’s -135°C recovery treatment at Watford’s stadium in London. Ben Dixon, Sports Scientist at the Hornets, enthused, “By maximising the speed of recovery it allows the players to maintain and improve their physical performance throughout the season whilst minimising the risk of injury. The installation of the new cryotherapy chamber at the Club’s training ground will ensure we continue to benefit from this in the future.”
