BOC has initiated a new, flexible industrial cleaning method which combines dry ice blasting, using carbon dioxide (CO2) dry ice crystals, and sand blasting.
Developed by the UK-based company and its parent, the Linde Group, the CRYOCLEAN® snow+ industrial cleaning process is a completely dry cleaning process in which liquid CO2 is pressurised to 60 bar, creating tiny dry ice crystals. These are then blasted onto components using compressed air and lifts contaminants off the surface, expelling the excess through exhaust systems.
By changing the ratio of CO2 and abrasive material, the operator can adjust the intensity of the cleaning process to match the condition of the surface. BOC has regulated this flexibility to be able to handle relatively clean areas followed by heavily contaminated, chemically altered or even corroded zones, in one single process.
