The British industrial gas specialist, BOC recently became the latest member of the Manufacturing Technology Centre in Coventry. It sits alongside such prestigous firms as Rolls Royce, Airbus and The Welding Institute.
The MTC is a significant part of the UK Governmental drive to increase manufacturing expertise in the region. BOC sits alongside other prestigious entities including, Rolls-Royce, Airbus, The National Physical Laboratory and The Welding Institute.
Speaking at the formal signing ceremony which took place in Coventry, the Head of BOC’s Merchant and Packaged Gas Business, Nathan Palmer said, “The Manufacturing Technology Centre is all about using technology to meet the challenges of engineering and industry in the 21st century. BOC as a business has a depth of expertise second to none in the UK – and is part of a leading global gases and engineering group. We expect to make a full contribution to the work of the MTC in creating advanced engineering technologies.”
Clive Hickman, CEO of the Manufacturing Technology Centre, commented, “The Manufacturing Technology Centre was set up to bring together the leaders in manufacturing innovation. We aim to provide the setting where the latest research can be translated into mainstream manufacturing technologies. That is why we are delighted to welcome BOC as a member of the Centre, bringing to our mix of resources their undisputed expertise in industrial gases technologies.”
