Blue Star Helium wants to produce beverage-grade carbon dioxide (CO2) from its Serenity CO2 project in the first half of 2025.
The Australian production and exploration company said that it has undertaken a review of various development concepts for the site, which is expected to represent an investment of $1.3m in Las Animas County, Colorado.
In an update released today (25th July), Blue Star Helium said the proposed facility is a chilled distillation system that will produce between 20 and 25 tonnes of high-purity, beverage-grade CO2 per day.
The system will achieve its production rate by processing around 500 million cubic feet of raw gas daily from the company’s initial two-well development in the region.
