US President Joe Biden and Energy Secretary Jennifer Granholm have announced the seven regional clean hydrogen hubs that have been selected to receive $7bn and produce more than three million metric tonnes of clean hydrogen annually.
Collectively, the hubs will equate to nearly one third of the 2023 US clean hydrogen production goal. They will also eliminate 25 million metric tonnes of carbon dioxide emissions from end-uses each year.
The seven selected regional hubs will catalyse more than $40bn in private investment, bringing the total public and private investment in the hubs to almost $50bn – one of the largest-ever investments in clean manufacturing and jobs in history.
President Biden today (13th Oct) announced, ARCHES, ARCH2, MACH2, Heartland, HyVelocity, MachH2, and PNW H2 as the selected hubs during his visit to Philadelphia.
