Sempra Infrastructure has awarded Bechtel Energy with a fixed-price engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) contract for the second phase of Texas-based Port Arthur LNG.
The second phase of the LNG project is expected to include two liquefaction trains capable of producing around 13 million tonnes per annum of LNG. This would increase the project’s total liquefaction capacity to 26 million tonnes per annum.
In September 2023, the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission approved the permit authorising Sempra Infrastructure’s Port Arthur LNG Phase 2 expansion.
