Battelle and its team of partners have successfully concluded carbon capture, utilisation, and storage (CCUS) research associated with the Midwest Regional Carbon Sequestration Partnership (MRCSP).
The group on Tuesday (15th June) said it had concluded the study which had been carried out in three phases, beginning in 2003 with the initial characterisation phase.
Phase two, the validation phase, followed in 2005 and focused on multiple small-scale pilot tests. Later in 2008, the team focused on large-scale development.
As momentum for CCUS continues to grow, both in the US and globally, the team will now move focus to the commercialisation of technology and expand its regional initiatives.
