Chemicals giant BASF will work with engineering firm Enerflex Ltd. (Enerflex) to accelerate commercial deployment of carbon capture, utilisation and storage (CCUS) applications.
Having supplied technologies to over 150 CCUS projects capturing five million tonnes of carbon dioxide (CO2) per year, Enerflex will combine its engineering legacy with BASF’s OASE blue technology for flue gas and post-combustion (CO2) capture.
The MOU aims to aid development of economic CCUS solutions, paving the way for global advancements in decarbonisation – an area in which BASF boasts over 500 reference plants.
“With OASE blue, BASF provides a technology for capturing CO2 from sources like power plants and industrial facilities,” said Fransis Chadikun, Senior Vice President, Intermediates North America of BASF.
