Last week, Petronet LNG appointed Ashok Kumar Balyan as the new Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director.
Balyan is currently the Director for Human Resources and Business Development at Oil and Natural Gas Corporation; after beating-off several competitors he accepted the offer made by the Petronet LNG Board.
Balyan will be appointed for an initial period of 5 years as CEO and Managing Director. Meanwhile, the existing incumbent, Prosad Dasgupta is vacating the role due to early retirement.
The elite recruitment project was led by Oil Secretary and Chairman of PLL, S Sundareshan. Representatives among the search committee included delegates from IOC, ONGC, GAIL, Bharat Petroleum and Gaz de France.
