Industrial automation specialist Valmet will install a ‘comprehensive’ automation system to the Baltics’ first biogas plant fired with household and commercial biowaste.
The biomethane production plant built by BioWOIMA Finland Oy in Tallinn, Estonia, will provide sustainable gas for the country’s natural gas network as well as fuel for compressed natural gas-powered vehicles and biofertilizer as a byproduct.
Commenting on the deal, Toni Hiltunen, Chief Technology Officer, BioWOIMA Finland Oy, said, “The project increases the availability of renewable energy on the Estonian energy market. We Chose Valmet as the automation supplier since it has a comprehensive automation system and a lot of experience with similar projects.”
