Energy technology company Baker Hughes will supply liquified natural gas (LNG) project developer Tellurian with eight main refrigerant compression packages for Phase 1 of the Driftwood LNG project near Lake Charles, Louisiana.
Delivery of Baker Hughes’ technology will enable Driftwood LNG to achieve initial LNG production in 2027. Once completed, Phase 1 will comprise two LNG plants with a combined export capacity of 11 million tonnes per annum.
Upon full project completion, Driftwood LNG will have the capacity to export up to 27.6 million tonnes of LNG per annum, creating 400 operational jobs.
Betchel was awarded the engineering, procurement, and construction contract for the site.
