The American Welding Society (AWS) has acquired World Engineering Xchange (WEX), the former sales and fulfillment partner for the publications of the American Welding Society.
The publication sales division will now be known as the AWS Technical Standards Sales department and will continue to operate the AWS Bookstore. They will now be housed at AWS’s global headquarters in Miami, Florida.
Opa Locka, FL-based WEX served as the publication sales arm of AWS for the past nine years and currently employs seven people who will now transition into AWS employees and continue providing quality and experienced service to members and customers.
“We are really appreciative of the partnership that WEX and its president, Bob Wing, have had with AWS for the past nine years. WEX implemented excellent processes and employed stellar people with values parallel to those of AWS,” said Ray Shook, Executive Director, American Welding Society. “We’re grateful to now have the WEX employees working with us in-house and look forward to having AWS expand our services and better serve our customers from one central location.”
