CB&I, a Texas-based engineering, procurement and construction company, has been awarded a contract valued in excess of $373m by Woodside Burrup Pty Ltd, sole developer of the Pluto LNG Project in Western Australia, to provide its services for the proposed project.
Under the terms of the contract, CB&I’s initial services include the engineering, procurement and pre-commissioning of 2 120,000 cubic metre containment LNG storage tanks, 3 condensate tanks and associated civil, piping, electrical and other work.
The Pluto LNG Project is a liquefaction facility with a proposed production of 4. million tpy and located in the Burrup Peninsula of Western Australia, is expected to be completed by 2010.
