Australia is budgeting up to AUD$22.7bn ($15bn) in industrial development over the next decade as it aims to become a clean energy and renewables ‘superpower’.
The Albanese Labor Government announced the investment as part of its ‘Future Made in Australia’ plan to bring new jobs and opportunities to communities.
The strategy aims to unlock $65bn of renewable energy capacity through the continued roll out of the Capacity Investment Scheme, assigns $209.3m to the Net Zero Economy Authority and allocates $168.1m to ‘better prioritise approval decisions for renewable energy projects of national significance’.
It will allocate AUD$3.2bn over the next decade through the Australian Renewable Energy Agency to support the commercialisation of technologies that are critical to Net Zero.
