As the Middle East places stronger emphasis on sustainability, energy giant Aramco has joined forces with industrial software leader AVEVA to establish an R&D-focused digital hub in Saudi Arabia.
The partners intend to work together to deploy digital technologies such as artificial intelligence (AI), machine learning, and data management in the region to support the Kingdom’s energy transition strategy.
In addition to rolling out cutting-edge predictive analytics technology across Aramco’s operating facilities, the partnership aims to focus on blue hydrogen and decarbonisation facilities.
Recognising that digital technologies have the potential to accelerate the transformation of industry, Ahmad Al-Sa’adi, Senior Vice President of Technical Services, Aramco, said that establishing partners with companies such as AVEVA is an essential element in its digital transformation strategy.
