South Korean hydrogen producer Approtium is one step closer to having its Ulsan-based hydrogen plant onstream, having today (19th February) announced the signing of a technology deal with Topsoe.
Under terms of the agreement, Topsoe, a European emission reduction technology specialist, will supply Approtium with its ammonia cracking technology, H2RETAKE™, to support the production of 75,000 metric tonnes of hydrogen annually.
H2RETAKE is designed for the high-efficiency conversion of ammonia into high-purity hydrogen, offering an energy efficiency of 96%. The technology uses off-gases as fuel for the endothermic reaction. It can process any commercial-grade ammonia feed source.
