Amec Foster Wheeler, an oil and gas engineering company, has been awarded a contract to supply a steam reformer heater to a hydrogen (H2) production unit in Russia.
The UK-based business will engineer and construct its proprietary Terrace WallTM reformer technology to the JSC Orsknefteorgsintez refinery in Orsk – one of the leading refineries in Russia.
The heater will form part of a new H2 production unit being installed at the site which, when completed, will produce a capacity of 75,000 Nm3 per hour.
Andy Hemingway, Vice-President of Global Process Technology at Amec Foster Wheeler, explained, “We have a long and very successful track record in designing and supplying heaters for the Russian market and this award constitutes another vote of confidence in the quality and reliability of our heaters.”
