Airgas will trial two heavy-duty hydrogen fuel cell trucks on various cylinder delivery routes in the Los Angeles, California area under a newly inked deal with Hyzon Motors.
The US-based company on Monday (9th May) announced the clean transportation effort that will see the deployment of Hyzon’s first 200kW truck and the Air Liquide Group’s first heavy-duty fuel cell truck hit the road.
Both of the zero-emission vehicles have been upcycled from existing diesel trucks and feature a Hyzon fuel cell system, electric drivetrain and lightweight hydrogen storage design.
As well as Hyzon’s first 200kW truck, Airgas will also trial a 100kW fuel cell truck. Trials of the vehicles will begin this fall.
