Airgas, an Air Liquide company, has acquired Sky Oxygen, a full-service industrial gas and welding supply business.
Based in Pennsylvania, Sky Oxygen services customers in Southwestern Pennsylvania, Southeastern Ohio, and parts of Northern West Virginia from two locations in Carnegie, Pennsylvania, and Martins Ferry, Ohio.
As a result of the purchase, 43 employees from Sky Oxygen will join the Airgas team as part of the Great Lakes region. The purchase will strengthen Airgas’ reach to both new and current customers in the geography.
The news marks Airgas’ fifth acquisition in the past 18 months and its 531st in its history.
David Burnstein, Area Vice-President of the Great Lakes Region at Airgas, welcomed the news, adding that the company looks forward to carrying on the family’s legacy that has spanned three generations.
