Airgas, Inc. has been ranked by Forbes Magazine as the Chemical industrys Best Managed Company in America in the January 9, 2006 edition. Airgas also placed 72 on the annual Forbes Platinum 400 listing, based on a five-year total annualized return to shareholders of 33.1 percent.
The list of Best Managed Companies in 26 industries was culled from the Platinum 400 listing, also known as Forbes’ Best Big Companies in America, which Airgas has made in seven of the last eight years. According to the magazine, the Forbes editors and writers evaluated the leading companies in each industry on factors such as innovation, efficiency and market leadership to select the best-managed company in each industry.
‘We are pleased that Airgas has been recognized for creating value for our shareholders,’ said Airgas Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Peter McCausland. ‘Our 10,000 associates nationwide deserve the credit for delivering outstanding service to our customers, which, in turn, creates outstanding results for our shareholders.’
