Air Products PRISM Membranes, a division of Tier One company Air Products, has received a colossal order to provide membrane separators to the Ningdong Energy and Chemical Industry Base in China.
Although specific details were not disclosed, it is understood that the “significant order,” as quoted in a press release, contributes to the second largest PRISM Membrane system in the North Pacific rim country.
The membrane system is designed to process up to 280,000 m3 of gas flow per hour. It removes contaminants and purifies H2 for reuse by impure gas from the coal processing method passing through its system. Its polymeric fibres then separate the H2 from methane (CH4), carbon monoxide (CO) and other hydrocarbons.
Peter Fung, Business Manager of Permea China, Ltd, a division of Air Products PRISM Membranes, signified, “This coal-to-liquids project demonstrates China’s advanced capabilities in the energy industry, and we are very proud to be part of it.”
