Air Products expects to cease operation of all stand-alone steam methane reformers (SMRs) and have stopped or nearly stopped production of grey hydrogen within ten years.
Seifi Ghasemi, Chairman, President and CEO of Air Products, was speaking on the industrial gas giant’s latest earnings call.
“In the long term, we are going to make only blue hydrogen, [and] 15 years from now, we will not have any SMRs running,” he said.
