Air Liquide starts up new ASU in Uttar Pradesh, India

Air Liquide has started up a new air separation unit (ASU) in Kosi, Uttar Pradesh, India, to support healthcare and industrial merchant activities.

Believed to be the largest liquid gases plant in the state of Uttar Pradesh, the ASU has the capacity to produce over 300 tonnes of liquid oxygen and medical oxygen, around 45 tonnes of liquid nitrogen, and 12 tonnes of liquid argon per day.

Medical grade oxygen produced at the site will be supplied to hospitals in the region.

The plant has been designed to support a successful energy transition for both India and Air Liquide. It is hoped that the plant will run solely on renewable energy by 2030.
