In the first half of 2024 (H1), Air Liquide achieved a 2.6% increase in group sales on a comparable basis. However, on a published basis, the industrial gas giant reported a 4.3% decline due to negative currency impacts and lower energy prices.
Reported today (26th July), the results included confirmed a significant improvement of 100 basis points in its operating margin, excluding the energy impact.
The company’s group revenue for H1 totalled €13.4bn, highlighting a growth of 2.6% on a comparable basis. Gas and services revenue was responsible for €12.8bn of this, despite the sector being down 4.5% due to unfavourable energy and currency impacts.
François Jackow, CEO of Air Liquide, said, “Air Liquide once again delivered a very solid financial performance in the first half of 2024 with a significant increase in its operating margin, supported by the acceleration of structural efficiencies.”
