Air Liquide has teamed up with Challenge Bibendum for a successive year.
The French company has stepped up as technological partner of the 10th Challenge Bibendum, which will take place in Rio, Brazil between 30th May and 2nd June 2010. The event has been organised by Michelin since 1998.
Annually, two thousand representatives from business, industry, the scientific community, NGOs, media, international and national institutions, meet to discuss sustainable road mobility. In particular, this year’s event will showcase innovation in trucks, buses, cars, clean urban vehicles, and around 10 hydrogen powered vehicles.
In preparation for the exhibition, Air Liquide will set up a bi-pressure hydrogen filling station (350 and 700 bars) to enable various hydrogen-powered vehicles to fuel-up. Vehicles will undergo tests, assessments and rallies at the Riocentro test centre to demonstrate performance.
Using patented Air Liquide technologies, the hydrogen filling station allows vehicles to be re-fuelled in under five minutes, whilst enduring identical conditions as vehicles run on conventional fuel. Each filling will offer a driving range of up to 500 kilometres.
During the last four years, Air Liquide has designed, commissioned and built an increasing amount of hydrogen filling stations; more than 40 stations have been installed to date globally.
