Air Liquide has taken another step forward in sustainable biomethane production by implementing an internal charter, developed with experts and WWF France.
Confirmed today (22nd May), the charter goes beyond current regulations and will help the industrial gas giant to measure and track process towards more sustainable production.
Specifically, the charter is centred around four main pillars: contributing efficiently to the energy transition; serving as a lever for agroecological practices; maximising the benefits for local ecosystems and promoting a circular economy; and preserving biodiversity and preventing environmental risks.
Armelle Levieux, member of Air Liquide Executive Committee supervising innovation, including biogas solutions, says that the success of the energy transition calls for global joint efforts and shared standards.
