High-pressure gas storage vessel manufacturer Noble Gas Systems has raised $4.2m to support the testing and commercialisation of its latest gas storage vessels, as well as the development of a new pilot manufacturing plant.
The Series B funding round was led by AP Ventures and supported by Air Liquide Venture Capture, the strategic venture capital fund of industrial gas major Air Liquide, among others.
Noble Gas wants the funding to help its 700-bar gas storage vessel to gain a US Department of Transportation (DOT) special permit, allowing for bulk storage usage and over-the-road transportation.
The vessel is designed for hydrogen, natural gas, air, oxygen and nitrogen storage.
Chris Kondogiani, CEO of Noble Gas Systems, said, “This marks a significant step in advancing and commercialising our vessel technology.”
The company’s pilot manufacturing plant, which will also benefit from the capital, is under development in Wixom, Michigan, at the company’s headquarters.
Noble Gas hopes to expand its research and development teams at the location.
