Air Liquide has announced plans to reduce the carbon intensity of its activities and work with customers towards a sustainable industry and contribute to the development of a low carbon society.
Through the company’s activities, including production, distribution and service, Air Liquide has committed to reducing its carbon intensity by 30% by 2025, based on its 2015 emissions levels.
The French industrial gas company aims to reach these goals by increasing its purchases of renewable electricity by nearly 70%, improving the energy efficiency of its production units, and reducing its carbon footprint of products through the optimisation of production and transportation by 10%.
Air Liquide has also announced plans to develop a low carbon society through developing biomethane for the industry and transportation, propose alternative solutions for refrigerated logistics, and promoting hydrogen.
