Air Liquide champions hydrogen research in North America

Air Liquide has initiated a five year hydrogen research partnership with Canadian technology bodies.
The company has entered into a sponsorship with the Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada (CRSNG) and the Université du Québec à Trois-Rivières (UQTR).
Key priorities within the partnership are to reduce the cost of hydrogen transportation, purification, storage and distribution. This reiterates Air Liquide’s existing efforts to provide innovative solutions spanning the entire hydrogen energy chain, and in particular, the recent contract agreement to supply Wal-Mart with a new fleet of green forklift trucks.

Martha Heitzmann, Air Liquide Research & Development Vice President, announced, “We are pleased to contribute to the development for this future energy. As world leader, Air Liquide intends to facilitate clean and renewable energy access to the largest population.$quot;

Heitzmann, added, $quot;We are proud to collaborate with world class Canadian research teams. Today, more than 60% of the Group’s R&D budget is dedicated to applications or activities related to the preservation of the environment and life.”
