Air Liquide has been awarded a contract to supply its food-grade gas to a major Italian superstore in order to preserve fresh food.
The French corporation will supply its ALIGALTM gas range solution to the ‘Iper, La grande i’ in the Arese district in Milan, allowing enhanced modified atmosphere packaging (MAP) capabilities.
The premium gas, typically constituted of carbon dioxide (CO2) and nitrogen (N2), will be used to package meat, fish and sausages, whilst the industrial gas giant will also supply the CO2 needed to produce and dispense craft beer that is on sale at the superstore.
Its ALIGAL solution features reliable analytical traceability and can be transferred into MAP systems, along with containing specialty regulators, changeover manifolds, gas detection monitors and various gas handling equipment.
