Air Liquide has teamed up with US engineering firm KBR to develop integrated low-carbon ammonia solutions based on autothermal reforming (ATR) technology.
Announced today (19th July), the partnership will initially see Air Liquide’s Engineering & Construction division collaborate with KBR on the ATR technology offering.
In the longer term, Air Liquide and KBR will continue to work together on the development of low-carbon hydrogen to support the energy transition.
ATR technology is believed one of the most suitable solutions for large-scale production of low-carbon hydrogen, which is then combined with nitrogen to produce low-carbon ammonia.
