Praxair’s Surface Technologies coating service center in Changzhou, China, has received a National Aerospace and Defense Contractors Accreditation Program (NADCAP) accreditation for coatings.
NADCAP is a global cooperative program that brings together technical experts from among prime contractors, suppliers and government representatives to work jointly to establish requirements for approval of suppliers using a standardized approach.
“Achieving NADCAP accreditation validates for customers that Praxair’s coatings at the Changzhou service center meet their aerospace industry quality standards,” said Daming Wang, business manager, Praxair Surface Technologies China.
Praxair commissioned an airframe production line in its Changzhou facility in 2013 to support the company’s 10-year agreement with Messier-Bugatti-Dowty for automated thermal spray coating services to replace chrome plating on major airframe component programs. This facility can also apply high-velocity oxy-fuel coatings to aircraft engine components.
