Technology firm ABB will work with carbon capture equipment specialist Captimise to drive the adoption of carbon capture, utilisation and storage (CCUS) technologies in the cement industry.
Having signed an MOU, the companies will help cement producers identify carbon capture technologies covering the full carbon chain from capture, liquefaction and buffer storage to transport, permanent storage and utilisation.
The initiative blends ABB’s automation, electrification and digitisation technologies with Captimise’s carbon capture know-how and CCUS project experience in the US and Europe.
“Our ongoing relationship with ABB has materialised in a number of projects across different industries, and we look forward to exploring further opportunities for cement customers,” said Mattias Jones, CEO of Captimise.
