The Swedish Nordic Hydrogen Corridor project will establish eight new hydrogen (H2) stations by 2020.
Funded within the Connecting Europe Facility Fund, there is co-financing for 100 H2 cars and a central electrolysis production plant as well as the stations. The project has a total budget of 187m Swedish kroner.
There are four stations open in Sweden today, and two new ones in Umeå and Stockholm. With the proposed new stations, this will bring the network to 14 stations by 2020.
“The Norwegian Hydrogen Forum will congratulate our Swedish friends on the good development and look forward to working together in a strengthened Nordic H2 initiative. Norway has been well ahead of Sweden all the time, but at the same time we must now really strengthen our efforts in Norway and continue to develop our leadership position – and create a coherent and robust H2 substation network in Norway, “said Secretary General Kristian E. Vik in the Norwegian Hydrogen Forum. “We have expectations that Venster’s accession to government will put pressure on and create good conditions with Enova’s increased commitment,” he concluded.
