The US Chamber of Commerce, Air Water America, Chart Industries, and 30 other organisations have warned the US Government that climate and economic goals will not be achieved without domestic clean hydrogen – and the 45 Clean Hydrogen Production Tax Credit (PTC) could hinder this if clear guidance is not given.
In a letter addressed to Biden Administration officials, the consortium of hydrogen experts addressed Section 45V PTC implementation that was introduced to spur investments in clean hydrogen.
However, the letter notes that poorly devised PTC rules could hamper the industry and US policy goals. That said, the letter cautions the Administration to avoid unworkable and inequitable PTC requirements that could shift clean hydrogen investments overseas and allow other countries to undercut US clean hydrogen manufacturing.
