Representing the interests of 100+ member companies, including manufacturers, suppliers, distributors, trainers and more in the compressed gases supply, the British Compressed Gases Association (BCGA) has a major role to play in the UK’s gases industry.
Having been elected as the organisation’s President last year, David Hurren discussed the key takeaways from the year so far and revealed what he’s most excited about for 2024.
Thank you for taking the time to talk to gasworld today. Why don’t you start off by telling us what 2023 has been like for the BCGA?
The year has continued to be busy with the growth of the Future Leaders initiative, an announcement on nitrous oxide prior to the policy being developed, and continued discussions in the detailed implications of the fall out of Brexit which still isn’t done. I am proud that BCGA has managed the governance and has continued to grow, and engage effectively with Government and Stakeholders through this new adventure, which hopefully sets a positive template for the future.
