We haven’t weathered the storm in carbon dioxide (CO2) supply shortages in Europe, we’re just ‘not at the peak of the wave’ of crisis, according to Chris Carson of Carbonic Solutions.
Carson was speaking on the sidelines of the European CO2 Summit 2024 last month, as exclusively reported by The 1895 Podcast.
Having presented during the event’s opening session and described the current state-of-play in traditional and emerging CO2 supply chains, Carson was unequivocal in his view that little has yet changed in the fundamental dynamics behind CO2 sourcing in the region – and the scale of the challenge ahead.
Speaking off-stage, he affirmed, “I was talking a little bit about the changing nature of the CO2 supply chain. There’s a lot of dynamics that are changing around CO2 supply from both the market side, the demand side, as well as the supply side.”
