Founded by former NASA astronaut Franklin Chang Díaz, the company is setting some serious targets when it comes to the world of space travel. Cryogenics is a vital technology when it comes to the aerospace industry and Ad Astra Rocket is focused on two main applications. Perhaps not the first thing that springs to mind when someone thinks of cryogenics and space travel, but the Houston-based company told gasworld it is having an increased interest in the cryogenic storage of propellants.
In many industries, cryogenic tanks and trailers are used to store and transport liquefied gases, such as helium, argon, oxygen and nitrogen, at high pressures and low temperatures.
